Our Impact

The FSMB Foundation undertakes educational and scientific research projects designed to expand public and medical professional knowledge and awareness of challenges impacting health care and health care regulation.

2013-2017

September 2016 - awarded small grants to support research and education.

February 2016 – Awarded Interstate Medical Licensure Compact grants to help states implement IMLC.

October 2014 – Released 2nd edition, expanded and released, Responsible Opioid Prescribing:  A Clinician’s Guide.

May 2014 – Round two of REMS grants awarded to 11 additional state boards – additional grants were distributed among the state medical board community for educational programming about safe prescribing of ER/LA opioids.               

March 2014 – REMS grants awarded to 12 state boards – grants were distributed among the state medical board community for educational programming about safe prescribing of ER/LA opioids.

September 2013 – Submitted article to JMR titled State Medical Board Exposure to Threats of Violence:  A Survey by the FSMB Foundation.

April 2013 – Held first annual FSMB Foundation Luncheon.

 

2007-2012

April 2012 – released second edition of Responsible Opioid Prescribing:  A Clinician’s Guide.

January 2012 – initiated subsequent survey on violence against state medical boards.

October 2010 – Initiated first survey on the prevalence of violence against state boards and board responses to those threats.


September 2010 – Supported Washington State Medical Board Metrics Project – research project to demonstrate the value of state medical board autonomy.

April 2009 – Launched Professionalism Project – online educational modules on medical regulation.

December 2007 – Released first edition of Responsible Opioid Prescribing:  A Physician’s Guide.
